The melodies of LeMaster Abrams are thought provoking and speak of life, love and loss through the rich acoustic heritage of the cello, guitar, banjo and vocal.
What listeners are not aware of is the unique way LeMaster and Abrams formed their duo.
One year prior to meeting Abrams, LeMaster lost her 26 year old daughter to a car accident. She found that turning her heartache and tears into chords and lyrics played a big part in the healing process. It was during this time of soul searching, LeMaster began performing with other musicians but none of them seem to fit her solo act.
In December 2014, a limo driver came to LeMaster’s home to pick her and her husband up for a company Christmas dinner. When the destination was reached, this unknown limo driver joined their holiday event. His name was Alex Abrams and not only was he a limo driver but he had a Master’s Degree in cello and taught at the Shedd Institute in Eugene, Oregon. The 2 strangers exchanged information and 3 weeks later LeMaster and Abrams began collaborating their talents to create the perfect blend of Indie Folk.
LeMaster transforms true experiences into inspiring lyrics with a haunting undertone. The warm combination of their instruments and vocal take the listener’s on an emotional journey and back.
Abrams joined LeMaster with a solid background in classical cello. He has since enhanced their duo with his own signature of style and sound which beautifully compliments the writing of his partner and brings out the messages embedded in the melodies.
LeMaster went through a year of writer’s block after losing her daughter. “When Alex Abrams came into my life, he gave me a spark of hope which stirred my emotions and turned them into honest lyrics,” LeMaster says.
LeMaster’s songwriting tells a story and Abrams passion through the cello vividly illustrates every word and makes the melodies come to life.
